Coinbase Reopens Token Sales to U.S. Users With New Global Launchpad
Coinbase has launched a new public token sales platform, restoring U.S. access to ICO-style offerings for the first time since 2018. Monad will be the first project to debut, selling 7.5% of its 100B MON supply on Nov. 17 at $0.025 per token. The DTCC also listed five spot XRP ETFs, marking another step toward deeper institutional adoption. Markets opened the week strong as U.S. lawmakers moved to end the 40-day government shutdown.
Brazil Extends Financial Regulations to Crypto Providers
Brazil’s central bank has introduced new rules requiring crypto service providers to obtain official authorization and comply with traditional financial sector standards, including governance, security, and anti–money laundering measures. The framework, taking effect in February with a nine-month grace period, also brings stablecoin transactions and cross-border crypto transfers under foreign exchange rules, capping operations at $100,000 when the counterparty is not authorized.
Visa Pilots Fiat-Funded Stablecoin Payouts in the U.S.
Visa launched a new pilot in the U.S. that lets businesses send payouts in stablecoins—such as USDC—to users’ crypto wallets, even when funded with traditional fiat accounts. The service, powered by Visa Direct, aims to deliver faster global payments and will expand in 2026. Targeted at international businesses and gig-economy platforms, the move builds on Visa’s broader stablecoin strategy as U.S. regulations gain clarity under the new GENIUS Act.
First XRP Spot ETF Debuts in the U.S. With Canary Capital’s XRPC
Canary Capital launched the first spot XRP ETF in the United States, expanding the crypto ETF landscape beyond Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana. The fund, which began trading today on Nasdaq under the ticker XRPC, is structured under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and uses a qualified custodian to safeguard the assets. XRP is trading around $2.46, with a weekly gain of 7.8%. According to CEO Steven McClurg, the ETF will facilitate a new wave of adoption by offering regulated access to one of the world’s most widely used digital assets.
Canary to Pause New Crypto ETF Filings as It Awaits SEC Shifts
Canary Capital plans to pause new crypto ETF filings for the rest of the year, saying it has already submitted applications for every asset that qualifies under the SEC’s generic listing standards. The firm will now focus on managing recent products, including its newly launched XRP spot ETF — which opened with $58 million in trading volume — and an upcoming Solana ETF. CEO Steve McClurg said future filings will depend on regulatory changes, as only a small number of assets currently meet SEC requirements, such as having a futures market active for at least six months.
